It all seemed to good to be true. Everything running smoothly along. Until I discovered that I know, from a mutual kids’ activity, one of our architect’s former clients. And I had to go and email her.
It’s time to have a sit-down with the architect and hear his side of the story. The sad story about how things went so horribly wrong when he switched hats and became the GC of the project he designed. There are always two sides.
In other sad news, our very same architect gave us some budget allocation guidelines and if we want to stick to them, something’s gotta go in the kitchen. Can I give up the warming drawer, or the trivection oven? Because I know there’s no way David’s not getting that induction cooktop.

Well, what did she say?
And what is a GC?

She said he is a brilliant architect, but was not able to actually get the job done when push came to shove.
GC = General Contractor
