Hidden Agenda #3,487

From my days as a high school and college music geek / d-j / pack rat, I’ve managed to accumulate a few hundred (probably closer to thousand) record albums. Sue also came with her share of prime 80s new wave LPs and along the way we’ve some how managed to accumulate even more.

For the exact length of time we’ve lived in our present home, those now several thousand records have been sitting in cardboard boxes in our garage, gathering dust and mold. They’re all still in fine shape and when I play them on my turntable, they all sound fine, but there’s really no place in the house to store that many records, or even a fraction thereof.

Which leads me to consider a novel use of the extra 24 square feet I’m going to get in my office, a DJ booth perhaps? A listening set-up? With a custom built cabinet from these guys?

A guy can dream.

Why not pay the kids to convert the LPs to MP3s? That way you get to listen to all of that old stuff (as do they) and they also get to work out what those huge plastic CDs are for?
